On 19th September 2015 our very own Rach married the love of her life and father of her two beautiful children, Harri and Delilah, Alex.
Rach and Alex, chose the very romantic Rosedew Farm for their big day. There is no denying the rustic beauty of this venue. Rach and I run the bar and event planning at Rosedew, and each week our ideas developed and morphed and our excitement levels went through the roof. I must admit, Alex did pick me up once or twice, accidentally referring to it as “our wedding” oops. Can’t fault my commitment!
So it began, the girl who once told me she didn’t get vintage, booked a barn for her wedding and prepared to fill it with hessian and hops.
Well, the meticulous planning of “our” day paid off. What a triumph. Rachel looked beyond stunning in her stylish Justin Alexander Tea length gown. Her makeup was perfected by Charlotte Joy and her hair by Katie Lazard. Her bridesmaids were in made to measure dresses from diydress.com in a gorgeous lilac with lace top to mirror their bride. The gents looked dapper in their tweed waistcoats from Marc Darcy.
The atmosphere of the day was electric. Rach and Alex had been together for 9 years by the time the wedding came around, so the venue was full of friends and family that had watched their relationship blossom for nearly a decade. At first traveling between Llantwit Major (where we all live) and Hereford, where Rach is from, to her moving her life here to start a family, having Harri, then having Harri propose to Mummy for Daddy, then their beautiful Delilah. It has been a brilliant journey for all who witnessed it. This day was the party to celebrate all of that love.
The Rise, a brilliant duo from London came down for the event, we had seen them at a wedding we had coordinated previously and fell in love with their voices and their charisma. They certainly didn’t disappoint. Not only singing Rach down the aisle, but all throughout our post ceremony drinks reception, and then again for the first set of the evening.
Mick from the Towers Hotel Swansea cater the day and it was a real feast. He was brilliant right from the offset and catered to the exact requirements of Rach and Al, which made him and easy choice for the day. Then the pizza van, a genius plan from Rach and Alex. Rudy is a culinary master, brilliant flavours and a great atmosphere, and did I mention the waffles? Yummy!!
After kicking off our shoes, headed for the flipflop box and consuming a Jagerbomb or two, The Omega Blend, a local band had us dancing the rest of the night away, cracking out all of the covers from our youth.
Now we are left with memories. Thankfully the pictures captured by Rachel Lambert Photograph and the Video from Hitched Flicks will live on forever (even if that also reminds everyone who watches of my questionable dance moves). This truly was one of the best weddings I have ever been to, or involved in (except mine of course, hehe 😉 Thank you Rach and Alex, for having a brilliant wedding that we will remember always.
